Regulations 9th Holland International Image Circuit 2014
(International Single Country Circuit)

1 General

The Circuit consist of 5 salons and entry is open to all photographers, worldwide. It will be conducted under the approved rules of FIAP (Federation Internationale de L’Art Photographique), PSA (Photographic Society of America), RPS (Royal Photographic Society)  ISF (Images sans frontier), UPI (United Photographers International) and BNAFV (Dutch Photo Federation)). All acceptances will count for FIAP, PSA, RPS, ISF and UPI distinctions and for inclusion in PSA Star Rating and “Who’s Who”.
 
2 Sections
The Circuit has one division: Projected Images. 
There are three sections: 
 
a. General, (PID-open)
All techniques are permitted, this only goes for this section.
 
b. Monochrome (PID-Monochrome-Open)
Definition Monochrome FIAP
A black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very clear grey (white) is a monochrome work with the various shades of grey. A black and white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to stand in the black and white category; such a work can be reproduced in black and white in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage. On the other hand a black and white work modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one colour becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the colour category; such a work requires colour reproduction in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage.
 
Definition Monochrome PSA:
A monochrome image is defined as having varying shades of no more than one 
color (various shades of that color from very light to very dark) but it may be any 
single color. Multi-toned images (various shades of two or more colors) and 
greyscale images with added an accent color are not acceptable.
 
c. Travel (PTD)
Definition Travel:
A Photo Travel image must express the feeling of a time and place, and portray a land, its distinctive features or culture in its natural state. There are no geographical limitations. Close-up pictures of people or objects must include distinguishable environment. Techniques that add to, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. All adjustments must appear natural. Conversion to full monochrome is acceptable. Derivations, including infrared, are unacceptable.
 
For all sections goes:
Entries must originate as photographs made by the entrant. 
 
For all sections goes, in case of clear animal suffering:
Images which have clear animal suffering in it, will be judged on their context.
 
3 Entry and Entry fees 
Each entrant may submit a maximum of 4 images per section, 12 total maximum.
 
a. Online individual entry
All individual entries can be done through our website www.hollandcircuit.nl . 
 
The dimension of the submitted images must be maximum of 1920 pixels on the horizontal side and/or 1080 pixels on the vertical side (the digital projector used for judging has a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 pixels), format jpg quality 8-12, colour space sRGB and maximum 2,5 MB. 
If you submit oversized images they will be automatically resized to meet our limits while preserving your original width-height ratio. Undersized images will be projected smaller.
 
Entry fee for one person for 5 salons:
1 section: €45 $60
2 sections: €50 $65
3 sections: €55 $70
 
Entries for which no or no complete payment has been received will not be judged.
Cheques are not accepted.
 
Payment can only be done through our own payment system (Paypal, Ideal, Creditcard)
 
b. Online Club Entry
A club entry consists of a minimum of 5 participants. Club entries should be uploaded consecutively by one person. There is no need for addresses of the other participants but we need their email address. Club discounts will automatically be calculated. All catalogues and awards will be send to the first and only address given. All club entries and payments can be done through our website www.hollandcircuit.nl

club discounts:
Clubs with 5 participants 10 % - Clubs with 6-10 participants 15 % 
Clubs with 11-20 participants 25 % - Clubs with 21-30 participants 30 %
Clubs with 31-40 participants 35 % - Clubs with 41-50 participants 40 %
 
Entries for which no or no complete payment has been received will not be judged.

c. CD-ROM Entry
For both Individual entries as club entries sending a CD-ROM with all images is permitted. Make sure a fully filled entry form and the total entry fee is included. Images must have a title corresponding with the entry form. (For fees see the above bullets)
The organization will take care of your entry and you will receive the results by email.

4 Similar images
When an entrant submits images which are significantly similar to each other, only one of the images will be accepted, even if the images are entered in different sections. Images previously accepted at one of the salons or images that are significantly similar will not be accepted at that salon.
 
5 Care
The submitted works will be given the utmost care, but the organizers cannot accept liability for theft, damage and/or loss. (In case of sending a CD-ROM)
 
6 Results
Each entrant will receive a report card via email and a paper catalogue consisting of at least 64 pages with a minimum of 150 colour prints. (FIAP ***** Catalogue)
 
7 Judging
Each salon has its own jury. Judging will take place in the same room, at the same time for all sections of all salons. The judges will not be able to influence each other’s marks. The decision of the jury is final and irrevocable. The entries per section will be presented to the jury consecutively. An author can win only one award per section.
 
8 Auteur right
Each entrant owns the copyright of the submitted images. The entrant permits the organizers to reproduce the entered material free of charge for the catalogue and the website. Besides that the material can be used for promotional purposes.
 
9 Members of Photo Clubs / Judges
a. Members partner clubs
Members of the five partner clubs may participate in the Circuit, but cannot win prizes in the salon organized by their own club.
b. Judges
Members of the jury are not allowed to participate in the Circuit.
c. Club Members
Club members of judges cannot win prizes in a salon adjudicated by the judge in question.
 
10 Rejection
An entry may be rejected when the organization, in its reasonable discretion, comes to the conclusion that the entry does not conform to Circuit rules and conditions. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own. The organizers accept no liability for any misuse of copyright, which remains the inalienable possession of the entrant.
 
11 Animal suffering
For all sections goes, in case of clear animal suffering:
Images which have clear animal suffering in it, will be judged on their context.
 
12 Young Photographers
Holland International Image Circuit likes to stimulate young photographers and we do so by handing out special awards.
A young photographer is someone up to 21 years of age.
Awards which can be won are:
Best young photographer of the Circuit (1 time)
Best young photographer of the salon (5 times)
 
13 Agree with the conditions
Submission of an entry signifies acceptance of and compliance with all the conditions of entry by the entrant. In all matters not covered by these conditions of entry the organisers will decide. Only the Dutch version of the conditions of entry will be binding in case of disagreements.
